The Lost Souvenir Destiny 2 quest is available from the Mysterious Datapad that is dropped during the Mysterious Box quest, which also gets you the Izanagi’s Burden Sniper Rifle, which is very essential to solve ‘Lost Souvenir quest. The riddle is actually related to a new Black Armory location, Niobe Labs in the EDZ, located south of the Sojourner’s Camp, down the ruined bridge on the southern part of the map. When you get there, you need to have the following weapons:

If you don’t have these weapons, don’t fret, you can obtain them by unlocking each of the first three forges (Volundr, Gofannon, Izanami) — each one is required to shoot certain symbols in Niobe Labs. In order to activate ‘Lost Souvenir Destiny 2 quest’, you need to go to the centre of Niobe Labs first and then interact with a Switch under the central platform. As soon as the quest begins, you will have to shoot seven symbols located around the labs’ area. For every symbol, you wil have to shoot it with the correct weapon. NOTE: The symbols will only be visible when you aim the proper weapon at the correct location. Once you have managed to shoot the symbols correctly, waves of invulnerable Taken will be displayed. How to Earn Forge Essence
In order to earn Forge Essence, you need to complete the Volundr, Gofannon, Izanami, and Bergusia Forges while wearing any full Black Armory armour set and using only Black Armory weapons. Once you are done completing all fourForges with the Black Armory gear equipped, the quest is completed. For completing this quest, you will be given an Obsidian Accelerator as a reward that you use to enhance Black Armory weapons. This might not be a great reward but you will know the importance of it.
